Fitness saved me mentally and physically, because they go hand in hand.

“I was blindsided when my marriage ended. I was coming to the gym, but I wasn't focused and I wasn't eating right. My stress level was out of control, so I said, “I gotta get it together” and I started to be more consistent with the gym. At that time I started to work out five days a week just to help myself feel better.

I was able to take the medicine ball and throw it against the wall; it really helps the stress level. I have my friends and my work friends who are wonderful, but I still needed that outlet to let off some steam and the gym is the place to do it. It was a place for me to let out all my stress that I had from my marriage and from work, and it took a while, but I started to feel really good.

I always had self-respect, but it's a different kind of self respect. It's a different kind. Fitness saved me mentally and physically, because they go hand in hand.”
