“Being surrounded by other people who just want to feel good helps me stay inspired to keep working on myself every day.”

“Growing up, I went through several experiences that I wasn’t really equipped to deal with on my own. This had an effect on my mental and emotional health and made it really difficult for me keep up with day to day life. I started working with therapists as a teenager, but I didn’t really feel a huge difference at the time. I was encouraged to exercise, but at that point I didn’t have the motivation because of depression and other PTSD things.

In my early 20’s I decided I wanted to feel better, whatever it took, and was ready to push towards any changes I needed to make. I started with walking every day and noticed how much of a difference it made in my mood along side therapy. Feeling better mentally very quickly became my biggest motivation to keep up with exercising, and it still is today.

Shortly after I landed at RD, I was lucky enough to be asked to shadow as a coach and have fitness become a daily part of my life. Being surrounded by other people who just want to feel good helps me stay inspired to keep working on myself every day. I can’t think of a time that I’ve felt as much support and motivation as I do right now with my RD family.”
